S.Rachmaninov - Pieces Fantasias, Etudes Tableaux, Victor Bunin, Piano

was born in Voronezh in 1936. His first musical impressions are connected with his father, the famous composer Vladimir Vassilievich Bunin. After his family moved to Moscow, Victor Bunin became a musical student at the Musical College of the Moscow Conservatory, under O.F. Mukhortova, and later, M.Y. Sever. Upon graduation from the Musical College, Bunin studied at the Moscow Conservatory under professor S.E. Feinberg, from 1956 to 1962, then went onto post-graduate courses with professor V.K. Merzhanov. In 1961 Victor Bunin appeared on an All-Russian piano competition and made off with the first prize. The pianist's agenda is well-packed with recitals and tours in Russia and abroad (Italy, Yugoslavia, the US, Syria, Ireland, and other countries). He was awarded the title of «Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation*, and recorded both records and compact discs for the firms Melody, EMI, and the like. He also took part in the production of Russian films and television programmes. Bunin is also the author of a series of articles and books about the problems of musical performance. Victor Bunin combines concert activity with pedagogical work at the Musical College of the Moscow State Conservatory, and gives masterclasses around Russia, the US, Ireland, Italy, Lebanon and other countries. Many of his pupils became the prize-winners of different international piano competitions.
