Al Cook, who plays now for more than 40 years on the stage, considered the bedrock of the local blues scene. Initially ridiculed, he did much for the local blues scene of the 1960s in the mid tremendously. After the visit of an Elvis Presley movie, Al Cook decides to become a musician and is in October 1964, the first time on the stage – before the wrong audience. This was at a loss and passages is by no means the presentation. In addition, it was with the Beatles-boom for a young rock ' n ROL singer become hard to make career. Al cook turned to the Blues, he quickly became the star of the growing scene. 1970 made him "working man Blues", the first blues LP of a white Nichtamerikaners, the local star produced in Europe.

Also "the authentic" or "The iron legend of the Blues" is being called by his fans, is since 1964 on the stage. So-called Megatrends or zeitgeist trends, certainly not tempting offers to sell, but in the popular garb have can hold 65 of its mission of honest music today. With the power of conviction, Al Cook brings his blues directly to the audience. Each concert will be unikären spontaneous event. "The man sings with a voice that recalls the great blues singers of the 1920s and 1930s years and it is hard to believe that Al Cook has never set foot on American soil." As and similar to the press writes since the release of his first record. Nearly four generations of young blues musicians have modelled on Al Cook as the first big live - impression. Untouched by contemporary influences, the music remains pure and Al Cook occupies therefore a unikäre special position among Europe's blues musicians.Al Cook was born on 27 2 1945 in Bad Ischl, but grew up in post-war Vienna. Up to the 15th years of age had to do its existence but as good as nothing to do with music. Al wanted to become a scientist in the field of astronomy. Since but his parents could not afford the education of her son, Al Cook had to assume apprenticeship as a mechanic. Just on the first day, July 25, 1960 hits it a take-it or leave decision. After Al Cook sees an old Elvis classic in cinema he decides to become a musician to escape the dull mediocrity of its surroundings. After years of intense self-study Al Cook is stands on the first time on the stage…front of the wrong audience. Also, the Beatles had already conquered the scene and a young rock'n ' roll - singer had to win a pot. At this time but is Al Cook by a neighbor with the classic blues in touch and works with skin and hair art that dominated until then only by Blacks. Because the Blues finally was the music of Al Cook optimally could express themselves, he, learned again alone, all instrumental - vocal techniques of historical blues - singer. in 1970, a Viennese label discovered the talent of the musician matured now to the virtuoso. Al Cook quickly becomes the star of the young Viennese scene. While selling many of his now-famous peers and pop culture faithful Al Cook his bar.Fritz Ostermeyer thinks "Somewhere else, you would celebrate this man as a total work of art" in a portrait of the "Ö3 music box". With various band formations, and to a large extent as a country - blues - soloist Al Cook works through his plate and concert projects. The artist described by some as eccentric has now found his congenial partner. Charlie Lloyd, some under his own name Charly Hloch well known by Al Cook as a body pianist trained.Charlie's spontaneous creativity on the piano can be seen truly and drummer Harry Hudson is the only one who pretty much what Al Cook's unpredictable outpourings can adapt. Both musicians have merged with Al Cook's vocals and guitar to a cast, whose Stilechtheit is second to none in Europe. The audience takes with a lasting impression and some has been satisfied as a new Blues fan home.
