This special release includes 30 studio tracks, consisting of the sensational sides Etta James made for the Bihari brothers' Modern and Kent labels between 1955 and 1961. Contained here are the cream of the crop from Etta's early years. This set also presents a number of James' lesser-known songs which are just as enjoyable as the classics from that period. All of these fabulous recordings have been remastered and packaged together in this collector's edition, which gives ample proof of Etta James' versatility as well as her rightful place in the R&B pantheon. Without a doubt, this is the material upon which her kingdom was built.
