Doro - World Gone Wild (2015) [6CD Box Set]

World Gone Wild is a collection of all the Doro albums that were released by Universal (with bonus tracks where available). The former vocalist with Warlock has had a 20 year plus career and these albums represent some of her finest works – presented for the first time in one set this collection is a great starting point for the casual and fervent fan of this brand of Teutonic Heavy Metal. All the albums have been re-mastered and the box contains a booklet with notes by Classic Rock’s Malcolm Dome.

Force Majeure is the first solo album of the German female hard rock singer Doro Pesch. The album was released in February 1989. Trying to follow the positive American feedback of the previous Warlock album, the songs of Force Majeure are even more oriented to radio-friendly pop metal than to the European power metal of Doro’s earlier works and include for the first time a cover, the famous Procol Harum’s "A Whiter Shade of Pale". The album sold quite well in Europe but had a limited success in the USA, reaching only the top 200 chart.

Angels Never Die is the fourth solo album of the German female hard rock singer Doro Pesch. The album was released in February 1993 and was produced by Jack Ponti and Vic Pepe. The two producers had worked with Alice Cooper on the hit single "Hey Stoopid" and had produced minor glam metal bands like Surgin’ and Baton Rouge. The sound and musical style of Angels Never Die is very similar to what can be heard on the second Doro solo album, alternating heavy rock tracks with large choruses and power ballads, in the vein of the declining pop metal that had dominated the American rock charts for the first part of the decade.

Doro Live was the first official live album by German hard rock singer Doro Pesch, recorded during the Angels Never Die tour in Germany and released by Vertigo in 1993. The VHS Doro Live '93 was released at the same time only in Europe. It was filmed during two concerts in Germany on 6 and 7 October 1993 and contains two more songs: "The Fortuneteller" and "East Meets West".

Machine II Machine is the fifth studio album by the German female hard rock singer Doro Pesch. The album was released in March 1995 and mixed by Kevin Shirley and Greg Smith. It is the more mainstream oriented album of the German singer to date, thanks to the production of Jack Ponti (Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper, Baton Rouge) and the collaboration of musicians and authors coming from pop, country and even Latin music. The lyrics break new ground for Doro, as many of the songs deal with erotic themes. The last track is a remix done by members of the German industrial metal band Die Krupps, who worked with Doro in her next albums.
