Auburn - Love and Promises (2016)

'Love & Promises' is the fifth album by the English ensemble Auburn. mainly the songs came last year to tie in the mountains of eastern Crete. As on previous albums once again come topics such as past emotions related or unrelated situations, love, loss, uncertainty and dreams discussed. Nashville singer Liz Lenten is the most beautiful place on earth. A place that is also full of music and creativity. The recordings there under the eye of producer Thomm Jutz also happened guitarist, was therefore obvious. 'Love & Promises' is characterized by the very distinctive voice of Lenten. A voice that she uses often in whispers, and when they add more volume carries a certain fragility in it. 'In My Blood' sounds a bit bluesy and moreover does Lentens voice all honor. Kudos certainly go to Britt Savage for the wonderful support vocals throughout the album. Musical bear Jen Gunderman and Justin Moses, respectively keys and accordion and dobro certainly contribute to special unusual atmosphere of the album. Moses' sublime performance at the dobro give luster to highlight, together with Chet O 'Keefe sung' Cross The Deep Atlantic. Gundermans accordion is then the ultimate bringer atmosphere in 'Safety Net'. 'Love & Promises' winds between Americana and intimate, some melancholic songs to listen to. If you Lentens whisper can appreciate, then gives you a very atmospheric album at home with this album.
