Stephen King: His Published Works of Fiction

I suppose nobody ever bothered to count (just did a Google search with the string "most+book+to+film+adaptations+by+author" and I got "best" and "worst" and "most bungled" and "top 50" results but not what I exactly sought for, so I suppose one can perhaps count by hand from the "top 50" result) which present-day author has had the most film, television and other media adaptations of his or her works, but off the cuff I would say it would be Stephen King. Here, then are the published works of fiction of the acknowledged master of horror, suspense and the heebie-jeebies, starting from his very first published novel, (1974), to his last short story anthology, (2010), my own modest, more or less complete compilation of his novels, novellas (or novelettes), anthologies and series collections, each work in the popular EPUB and MOBI eBook formats, for enjoyment in your laptops, e-readers, tablets, mobile phones and other smart devices. The basis for this compilation is the informative and I should say authoritative Wikipedia article, "Stephen King bibliography" (wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_King_bibliography). The files themselves were pulled off several sources, from a pair of torrents and posts from dedicated forums and blogs, through the years. Most are of very good quality, the epub and mobi ebook formats having their own book metadata (really metacontent) embedded in the file structure itself. Nevertheless, an .opf file (open packaging format--it is a cross platform specification that contains the book metadata to try and maintain some consistency among different ebook formats especially when converting from one format to another; many but not all dedicated ebook formats support saving extensive metadata in .opf files) is included in almost all but one or two of the ebooks, if you ever desire to clean up the file further or convert it into another ebook format.

Stephen Edwin King (born September 21, 1947) is an American author of contemporary horror, suspense, science fiction and fantasy fiction. His books have sold more than 350 million copies, which have been adapted into a number of feature films, television movies and comic books. As of 2011, King has written and published 49 novels, including seven under the pen name Richard Bachman, five non-fiction books, and nine collections of short stories. Many of his stories are set in his home state of Maine. King has received Bram Stoker Awards, World Fantasy Awards, British Fantasy Society Awards, his novella The Way Station was a Nebula Award novelette nominee, and in 2003, the National Book Foundation awarded him the Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters. --
