The first and second volumes of Théâtre complet by Pierre Corneille, a prolific French tragedian from Great Three (along with Molière and Racine), called 'the father of French tragedy'. Tome I and II includes plays were written during the Earlier Corneille's period from 1629 to 1647, before he met poor unfair reviews of critics and, disheartened, decided to quit with the theatre and became focused on verses translation (Imitation of Christ by Thomas à Kempis).
