This is a great book! This is the first book in the Bones & Gemstones Series. Charlotte is a female apothecary-surgeon which is very rare in her time. She was once in love with Cameron but got her heart broken when he left her when she was sent to Scotland to study apothecary. Charlotte knows that Cameron has been in town working as a thief-taker and has tried to avoid running into him. However, when he shows up on her doorstep hurt she doesn't hesitate to help him. Which also bring up the love for each other that they tried to forget about. The young man that works for Charlotte is being framed for murder, and Charlotte is determined to clear his name. Cameron is hired to investigate the murder, and now they must work together to find the truth. This book had me hooked from the first page until the last. I loved the romance, suspense and the mystery and I have to say left me guessing until the end. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
