Few aircraft have survived so well and been so loved as ihe Lockheed T-33 series. Affectionately known as the 'T-Bird' and occasionally as the 'T-Bag' or Lockheed Racer, the T-33 was ubiquitous tor thirty years. Almost every military pilot in the Western wortd has flown in or with the aircraft and the type has worn the colours of many nations. Now, almost suddenly, this wonderful aircraft has become a rarity.
Conceived by Lockheed engineers to provide special jet training for pilots destined for the P-80 single-seat fighter, the T-Bird was so successful that over 7000 were built. Despite its 1940s' lineage and its 1950s' production, the aircraft has an enviable combination ot performance and economy. To its admirers, the 'old girl' has a beauty all her own and, like a first love, always will.
