About the Author
Michael F. Anderson is a historian of the western United States and the National Park System. A teacher and guide for the Grand Canyon Field Institute, Colorado River guides, and the National Park Service, he has researched and written histories of northern Arizona and southern Utah since 1990. Dr. Anderson received his Ph.D. with distinction from Northern Arizona University in 1999. He is the author of Living at the Edge: Explorers, Exploiters and Settlers of the Grand Canyon Region and Along the Rim: A Guide to Grand Canyon's South Rim from Hermits Rest to Desert View.
