The Power of Positive Painting™ instructional video (now on DVD) has been a real success story. Robert has received plenty of feedback over the years since he first published the Power of Positive Painting™ back in 1995, all of which he has taken to heart. Overwhelmingly, viewers appreciated his practical, concrete, informative and energetic approach to portraiture.

Great news! Robert has put all that great feedback, insight and subsequent teaching experience into the creation of the much anticipated follow up DVD, called The Portrait; a value-based painting system.

The new DVD, from Liliedahl Video Productions, is even more comprehensive than the first, much more down to business. Robert's focus is on breaking down the fundamentals for the viewer, the ones many teachers tend to gloss over or skip altogether.
He also gets into the nuances of handling the brush and executing and recognizing the master-stroke. There's a section on what to do when you get into a drawing jam. In the new DVD there is more explanation about the advantages of mixing and using the Power Palette. Other bonus features allow you to take in as much or as little information as you're ready to hear, when you're ready to hear it. For instance, Robert has packed everything he knows about a successful portrait career into the bonus feature, "Being a professional portrait artist today." Beginner and advanced students have expressed that they have come away with renewed confidence and a practical, step-by-step approach for completing a portrait after viewing the new DVD.
