The book used in the intermediate accounting course I'm taking doesn't give any answers to homework problems. One could flounder around for years and never know if they are doing the homework correctly. This book begins at a very basic level and guides you along the way with all the sample problems worked out to ensure that you're doing it correctly and then moves on to more difficult problems. I have learned a considerable amount from this workbook.
