The development of the unbuckled solid mechanics formalism begins by defining in the space the situation of the body which we want to study; this is covered in the first chapter called “Location”. Then it is necessary to characterize the solid movement by its fields of velocity and acceleration: that is the object of the second chapter called “Kinematics”. Finally, describing the body, intrinsically and by the properties, including the energy it acquires when it is in movement, is the object of the third chapter called “Kinetics”.
