The Invincible Iron Man Vol. 5 #1-22 (Ongoing) Current and Complete

is a comic book ongoing series written by Matt Fraction with art by Salvador Larroca, published by Marvel Comics and starring the superhero Iron Man. It won the 2009 Eisner Award for Best New Series. Thus far there have been 22 issues in this relatively new title, volume 5 in library terms, with the first two story arcs completed and and the third ongoing. The initial story arc, "The Five Nightmares" underscores Fraction's rehabilitation of Stark as a legitimately heroic presence in the Marvel Universe without simply setting aside the character history that has brought him to this point. Fraction's treatment of Stark's multi-faceted character is intelligent and adult, without sacrificing the sense of fun and energy that makes superhero comics thrilling to read. A heck of a great way to promote the movie, too. The almost epic second story arc, "World's Most Wanted", closely ties in to the then ongoing crossover storyline. The five-part third story arc, "Stark: Disassembled" is still ongoing (currently at part 3 with issue #22) and is set to end with issue #24 due for release March 3 2010. Along with Michael J. Straczynski's , perhaps the best of Marvel's current titles, with perhaps Marvel's best creative team on board. Minutemen scans, with 2 issues, likewise of high quality, scanned by Kryptonian-Avenger (DCP). The character first appeared in (March 1963), and was created by writer-editor Stan Lee, scripter Larry Lieber, and artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby. Born Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark, he is an industrialist playboy and genius engineer who suffers a severe heart injury during a kidnapping in which his captors attempt to force him to build a massively destructive weapon. He instead creates a powered suit of armor to save his life and escape captivity. He later decides to use the suit to protect the world as Iron Man. Through his multinational corporation, Stark Industries, Tony created military weapons and his own metal suit is laden with technological devices that enable him to fight crime. Initially, Iron Man was a vehicle for Stan Lee to explore Cold War themes, particularly the role of American technology and business in the fight against communism. Subsequent re-imaginings of Iron Man have gradually removed the Cold War themes, replacing them with more contemporary concerns such as corporate crime and terrorism. Throughout most of the comic's history, Iron Man has been a member of the superhero team the Avengers and has been featured in several incarnations of his own various comic book series. He has been adapted for several animated TV shows and a a live action film (2008), for which this series helped promote. The first story arc consisting of the first seven issues is presented here in the Marvel Hardcover edition, hence as a single-download RAR archive following my usual practice. The twelve-issue second story arc is much too big so the individual comic book files (11 CBR and 1 CBZ) were packed into a 3-part RAR archive. Since the third story arc is still ongoing, the issues thereof, #20-22, are posted as individual CBR/CBZ downloads.
