Sir Edward Grey, a mysterious character occasionally appearing in “B.P.R.D.” and “Hellboy,” gets his own five-issue miniseries from Dark Horse beginning with this July 1, 2009 release. Written by Hellboy mastermind Mike Mignola with art by Ben Stenbeck, sees the Victorian occult detective fighting against otherworldly assassins and the devious machinations of the Heliopic Brotherhood of Ra. Although it has the same premise as others in Dark Horse's Hellboy Universe--paranormal investigators confronting the forces of the dark--the throwback setting to Victorian England help lend Witchfinder a fresh viewpoint, and it manages to more than hold its own. Definitely laying the groundwork for a major role for Witchfinder in an upcoming Hellboy saga.
chronicles one of Edward Grey's first cases as an agent of the queen, which takes Grey from the sparkling echelons of Victorian London to its dark underbelly in his first clash with the city's most infamous secret society: The Heliopic Brotherhood of Ra. Mike Mignola teams up with artist Ben Stenbeck () for a look into one of the Hellboy universe's greatest enigmas: nineteenth-century occult investigator Edward Grey! --
