, aka "The last Voyage of Sindbad" is a compilation in graphic novel form of a series of stories that first appeared in Heavy Metal Magazine Issues #15 through #28 (1978-1979), with story and art by Jan Strnad and Richard Corben, respectively, and published by Simon and Schuster in 1979. The story begins with a short revisit to the original "Arabian Nights" storyline, which is presented more or less faithfully, then adds to that with Sharazad, the story-telling girl-turned-queen telling a story about Sindbad's last voyage to her sister, Dunyazad. Noted author Harlan Ellison in his Introduction correctly observes that what sets this series apart from other Heavy Metal presentations is the fact that the artwork by Corben, instead of usually being the focus of attention and hence overwhelming the plot of the story, instead serves to complement the storyline of Strnad.
